Aero Farm Systems LLC (“AeroFarms”, the “Company”), a provider of aeroponic technology and solutions, announced today that Jessica Bloomgarden has been appointed to the role of chief marketing officer (CMO). Bloomgarden will be responsible for strategic leadership of the Company’s sales, marketing, business development and product management. Bloomgarden most recently served as Principal at 21Ventures, a clean technology venture capital fund. Before that, Bloomgarden worked in JPMorgan’s technology investment banking group.
“I am extremely excited to have Jessica join AeroFarms executive leadership team. She brings incredible enthusiasm and energy to our team,” said Ed Harwood, CEO of AeroFarms. “Today, the urban agriculture industry is poised for rapid growth, and with Jessica’s leadership of sales and marketing, AeroFarms is ready to emerge as an industry leader.”
“I am thrilled to be joining the AeroFarms team. During my time at 21Ventures, I came across several vertical farming business plans, but AeroFarms is the first company that has a proven and viable solution. I can’t wait to tell our story and start working with entrepreneurs to realize our vision of a decentralized food production system that creates a fresher, safer and more secure food supply,” said Bloomgarden.
Bloomgarden had sourced 21Ventures seed investment in AeroFarms in 2009, and has been working closely with the team since then. Bloomgarden says that her decision to transition full time to AeroFarms management team is a testament to her belief in the technology and industry.
